On the evening of 14th Jannuary 2013 the very first "Tech Rally" took place at the JKU Campus. It was both, organized and led by DI Martin Heinisch (University Assistant of the Institute for Microelectronics and Microsensors).

First of all, a few ideas to what the "Tech Rally" is all about: It is an event where the attendees get a chance to have a glimpse about the fields of research of the particular institute. But how exactly does this happen? Each Tech Rally consists of two presentations that are held by associated institutes of the mechatronic department. There, young scientists (PhD students and Posdocs)talk about their field of research within a time frame of approximately 20 minutes. After each presentation, the audience can ask questions about the respective content. The idea behind the concept is, amongst others, to make the research fields of the particular institutes easily accessible, to offer a networking platform for both, scientists and students and to facilitate the interaction between the students and researchers in a friendlier atmosphere than the classroom.
